On Saturday, February 5, 2022, Planes of Fame Air Museum is once again combining our Hangar Talk event with our Flying Demo to present a special event. The Museum will be featuring the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 jet fighter.

Hangar Talk Presentation

Join us this Saturday, February 5, 2022 as we present "Hangar Talk: the Planes of Fame Air Museum Live Magazine" with a great range of topics –  then enjoy as we fire up and fly our MiG-15 for a "Flying Demo" over the Museum.

Doors open at 9:00am and the "Hangar Talk" presentations begin at 10:30am and last until noon.  The Mig-15 engine start will be at 12:15pm followed by the flight and Q&A with the pilot.  

Presentations for Hangar Talk will include a look at the development of early jet technology and how the MiG-15 helped herald a new era in combat aircraft. We'll look at the Air War in Korea in more detail with particular emphasis on the air-to-air duels begin the MiG-15 and the F-86 Sabre over North Korea's "MiG Alley."  We're also going to delve into the fascinating future of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and take a step way back to look at one of the first women flyers Harriet Quimby.  

Following the presentations, we proudly present our "Flying Demo" for February as the Museum's own Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-15bis jet will take to the skies to the delight of everyone.  One of only a handful of MiG-15 aircraft that still fly, visitors to the Museum will get an upclose look as the aircraft fires up its powerful Klimov VK-1 Turbojet engine.  The aircraft will then taxi away and fly over the Museum for approximately 20 minutes.  Upon its return, guests can interact and ask questions of the MiG's pilot.

To make your visit complete, we've got on-site Coffee and Smoothies, Tacos, and plenty of new merchandise in the Gift Shop.  We'll have some living history re-enactors on site for you to ask questions and pose with for photos and we've got some fun and games for our youngest visitors.  Regular Admission fees are in effect and Museum Members always get in free.
