Group Tours: Arrangement and Policy

A Tour Like No Other!


We welcome all groups, but to get the most out of your experience, we ask that you prearrange your tour reservation in advance.  Although group tours may be arranged on short notice, we normally ask that you contact us at least two weeks in advance of a planned tour. Groups are defined as a total of 10 or more paid admissions. 

This enables us to (1) schedule docents to lead your tour, if desired, and (2) mail out an informative confirmation package well in advance of the tour.

Who to Contact

Use the "TOUR RESERVATIONS INQUIRIES" button below, and the Lead Tour Docent will be in touch with you. Do not use the GENERAL INQUIRIES form on the CONTACT US page to make your inquiries or reservations. If the button does not work for you, cut and paste the following email address into your mail program to make your inquiries and reservations: grouptours@planesoffame.org .  If you do not receive an e-mail or phone response within two days, call the Museum Gift Shop at (909) 597-3722, extension 0.

Please give us two weeks' notice lead time when requesting a tour.

Requesting a Guided Tour

When requesting a tour by email (click on the TOUR RESERVATIONS INQUIRIES button above; if the button does not work for you, cut and paste the following email address into your mail program to make your inquiries and reservations:  grouptours@planesoffame.org ), please provide the following information to arrange the best possible tour:

  • your name and mailing address
  • your telephone number (a land line is preferred, but we can also contact you on your cellular phone)
  • the name of your group
  • your preferred tour date and time (you will probably get it, unless there is a previously scheduled tour)
  • the time you have available for the tour (we recommend two hours, but can tailor a tour to meet your needs)
  • the size of your group (numbers of adults and children, including children’s age range)
  • special requirements for disabled persons


A non-refundable deposit of $25 must be made to confirm your reservation. If the tour is cancelled 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour date, the deposit may be applied to a future reservation.

We do not accept purchase orders.

Confirmation Package

Once we have confirmed your tour, we will mail you a confirmation package, which includes (1) a cover letter stating group name, date, and time; (2) a copy of our Group Policies; (3) a map to the Museum; and (4) a Museum brochure.

We will contact you by phone 48 hours before your scheduled tour to confirm your reservation, and to get a final head count.

The Tour Itself

You may elect to take a self-guided tour. Each display aircraft (except “boneyard” aircraft awaiting restoration) has a sign posted nearby with information on weights, dimensions, missions, weaponry, and historical facts on the type or particular aircraft.

Our docents are all knowledgeable aircraft enthusiasts who volunteer their time to make your visit more rewarding. They will combine elements of history and technology to help you better understand the role these aircraft have played in making the world what it is today. And they will answer any questions you have regarding the Museum, our collection, and aviation in general.

Free Tour Guides

Tour guides are available on request at no charge.  All of our Tour Guides are trained volunteers, so to insure your request for tour guides can be filled, you must reserve a tour guide at least two weeks in advance and reconfirm your tour 48 hours in advance, as noted above.


For all groups with minors, we ask that there be one adult for every five children in the group. We also request that only five minors, accompanied by an adult, be allowed in the Gift Shop at one time.


In all cases, group leaders or parents will be held responsible for the conduct and actions of their group. Please take a moment to discuss proper Museum behavior with minors in your group.
