FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Bernardino County has recently transitioned to the “Moderate” or “Orange” tier in the California Roadmap to Recovery program associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.  Under these guidelines, Planes of Fame Air Museum is permitted to allow controlled access to all the interior areas of the Museum provided we maintain 50 percent capacity at all times.

Guests will be able to visit the majority of hangars within the Museum campus.  Museum Guides wearing masks and maintaining social distance will tell the stories related to the aircraft.  The Aviation Discovery Center, Museum Research Library, Model Room, and Theater remain closed until further notice.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the Museum’s Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” will be open to visitors to safely enter and learn about the men and women who designed, built, and flew these massive bombers during World War II.

Discount pricing remains in effect ($12.00 per adult, $5.00 for children 5-11, and 4 and under are Free.  The Museum’s Gift Shop is open.

Guests are asked to wear a face covering at all times while at the Museum and to maintain safe social distancing from those outside their immediate family.  Anyone not feeling well or anyone who has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 is asked not to visit at this time.

Every day at Planes of Fame Air Museum, you can experience history - both the reliving of it and the making of it. When one of our planes flies, for most it is a rare and wonderful thing to witness. Planes of Fame Air Museum has maintained a fleet of flyable historic aircraft for over 60 years! The Museum has operated these types of aircraft longer than the Army Air Corps or Air Force did. Planes of Fame Air Museum truly is where aviation history lives.

You too can experience history through Planes of Fame Air Museum. Maybe you live too far to visit, but we hope this website gives you a taste of what we try to do here every day. And maybe someday, you will hear the roar, look up in the sky and see one of our planes overhead!

“My answer is D all of the above, final answer! There was literally not one moment where I could stop myself from taking a break taking pictures of everything. It was pretty awesome though to see the only flyable flying wing.”

“I attended the air show and was amazed by the number of beautifully restored aircraft and how well-organized the air show was. As a former airman in Korea, I was delighted to see some of my familiar aircraft in the show.... it is my pleasure to contribute to your well-oiled operation”

“Just a quick note of thanks to Ed Maloney, Steve Hinton, the staff, the volunteers and the sponsors for a really great air show. There's no doubt that you have one of the finest air museums in the country. I'm proud to be a member.”

“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Planes of Fame Air Museum for all you did for my Dad during our visit and to let (a veteran) sit in a B-25 again. You truly made his dream come true. I just don't know how I can really thank you.”

“It was great being at the Planes of Fame Air Museum yesterday. I'm so glad Sandy recruited me for the occasion. It was a worthwhile experience and I really enjoyed participating in the event. I must compliment you and all concerned on the extremely organized function. Enclosed are a couple photos of me wearing my 65-year old helmet, goggles and oxygen mask, which ended up like the paparazzi (taking pictures).”
