Celebrate Independence Day with a powerful and inspiring morning at Planes of Fame Air Museum — and still have your afternoon free for barbecues, parades, and fireworks.

This Saturday marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and we’re commemorating it with a special Hangar Talk honoring the generations who have protected America’s founding ideals plus our own exciting “4th of July” aerial parade.

Hangar Talk: The Keepers of Our Freedom — 250 Years of American Service

This special edition of Hangar Talk will focus on how the Declaration of Independence — with its bold promise of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness —  has not only shaped the American way of life but inspired millions around the world.

Faces of Service: A Journey Through American Courage

Keepers-of-Our-Freedom-Hangar-Talk-use

“The Keepers of Our Freedom: 250 Years of American Service” is a sweeping presentation featuring five archetypes of American service:

  • The Volunteer — those who step forward when the nation calls
  • The Innovator — those who imagine new ways to protect and advance freedom
  • The Guardian — those who stand the watch at home and abroad
  • The Rescuer — those who risk everything to save others
  • The Remembered — those whose sacrifice endures across generations

Each segment features expanded historical vignettes, powerful visuals, and deeply human stories drawn from America’s 250‑year journey.  We’ll also incorporate several engaging readings from history.

A Skyward Salute: The Parade of T-6 Texans

At 12:15pm, we’re hosting a very special Flight this month.  We have seven North American T-6 “Texans” ready to start their engines and take to the skies in a thrilling “parade” to celebrate America’s Independence Day!

You’ll thrill as each of these aircraft start their powerful Pratt & Whitney 600 horsepower radial engines directly in front of the crowd – the roar will rival any fireworks display for noise and bone-shaking excitement!

Then the seven “Texans” take flight over the Museum for twenty minutes in solo and formation — a rare and unforgettable tribute to the generations who carried America’s colors into battle.

Celebrate the 4th — And Still Enjoy The Rest of Your Day

Doors open at 9:00am, Hangar Talk begins at 10:30am, and the T‑6 formation flight concludes by early afternoon — giving you plenty of time afterward to enjoy parades, barbecues, fireworks, and time with family.  We’ll have Food Trucks on hand, our Museum Guides are prepared to take you back in time with stories of aviation’s thrilling past, and we’ll have lots of hands-on fun for all. Even if you stay until closing at 4:00pm, you’ll still have time to catch your local Fireworks display!

Start your Independence Day with meaning, inspiration, and the roar of WWII aircraft overhead at the Planes of Fame Air Museum at the Chino Airport.
