Museum Founder Ed Maloney was a published historian and lifelong advocate for aviation and education. Ed believed that the key to a successful life was through continual education. He challenged others to learn and discover something new each day.
The Ed Maloney Scholarship Fund is dedicated to his memory and promotes continuing education and advanced education goals of individuals in areas related to aviation, aeronautics, and history studies.
There are currently four scholarships available in the Ed Maloney Scholarship Fund. Some are presented at various times throughout the calendar year, others are annual.

Candidate applications are reviewed and awards presented to those individuals who best fulfill the requirements and who exemplify the ideals promoted by the Planes of Fame Air Museum.
You’ve already joined the ranks of those who have conquered the skies. As a pilot, you understand the importance of growing your knowledge base. The Planes of Fame Air Museum Advanced Flight Training Scholarship is to be applied to one training course, certificate, rating, or type rating in aviation to foster advancement in the field. Examples of scholarship awards might be for Instrument Rating, Multi-engine rating, Flight Instructor certificate, Airline Transport Pilot certificate, King Air training, or Boeing 737 type rating.Amount: The Advanced Flight Training Scholarship has a maximum funding of $1,000.00.Eligibility: Candidates must be a citizen of the United States. Candidates must currently reside in one of the ten counties of Southern California (Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura). Candidates must possess a current FAA-issued Flight Certificate (Sport, Recreational, Private, Commercial, Airline Transport). The Planes of Fame Air Museum Aviation Technical Training Scholarship helps fund training courses, certification, or other required qualifications to foster advancement in the field. Examples of scholarship awards might be for Air Traffic Control or Developmental Controllers, Aircraft and Avionics Equipment Mechanics and Technicians, Airport Operations, Aircraft Manufacturing and more.
Amount: The Aviation Technical Training Scholarship has a maximum funding of $1,000.00.
Eligibility: Candidates must be a citizen of the United States. Candidates must currently reside in one of the ten counties of Southern California (Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura). Candidates must be enrolled or have been accepted into an accredited aviation/aerospace technical training program.

The Grace Montgomery Academic Scholarship helps fund higher academic pursuits for women in the areas of history, museum studies, and library sciences.
