The Museum believes in supporting the higher education goals of students.  To this end, in 2018, the Museum launched the Ed Maloney Memorial Scholarship, an essay-based contest open to students of the Chino Valley Unified School District High Schools and Ed’s alma mater, Pomona High School.

High school seniors from these five high schools are invited to submit a 1,000 to 1,500 word essay. The theme for the 2019 Scholarship focuses on the impact of aviation. Students are asked to create an essay using this statement as their topic: “How did the events of December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, forever transform our world?

The scholarship runs from January until June. Judging determines a first place and second place winner for each high school. Prizes totaling $7,500.00 will be announced in July 2019.
