The Planes of Fame Air Museum is an independently operated, non-profit 501(c)(3) aviation museum. It is the Mission of Planes of Fame Air Museum to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public, and honor aviation pioneers and veterans.  The Museum is dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and exhibition of historical aircraft, and to the men and women, both famous and unknown, who devoted their lives to flight.

Hours of Operation

The Museum is open every day of the year, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and occasional special events.  Check out the Aircraft Flight Schedule before your visit.

Normal hours are Sunday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Driving Directions

If approaching on the Riverside Freeway (California Highway 91), exit at the Route 71 Expressway, which only takes you north. Exit onto Euclid Avenue (California Highway 83), and turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Euclid Ave. north to the traffic light at Merrill Avenue, and turn right.

If approaching on the San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10) or California Highway 60, exit at Euclid Avenue and turn south at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Euclid Ave. south to the traffic light at Merrill Avenue, and turn left.

Once you are eastbound on Merrill Ave., drive 0.6 mile to Cal Aero Drive, and turn right. The Planes of Fame Air Museum parking lot is the first driveway on your right.






 

Using Internet Mapping Sites

Exercise caution regarding other Internet mapping sites, as they may not take you to our Museum.
Google and Bing maps provide the accurate location of the Chino, CA facility of Planes of Fame Air Museum. 


Using Global Positioning System (GPS) Satellite Navigation

Depending on the database for your GPS navigation system, simply entering “Planes of Fame” may not bring you to our facility.

Either of the following approaches will be more helpful:

  • Enter the intersection of Merrill Ave. and Cal Aero Dr., which will bring you to within 100 feet of our parking lot
  • Enter our exact coordinates (-117° 38' 20.89" West longitude, 33° 58' 54.09" North latitude).

Flying In

Fly-in visitors are welcome. Please consult current charts, NOTAMs, weather forecasts, etc., before your flight to CNO (Chino Airport).

Upon landing, request transient parking near Planes of Fame Air Museum, where you will find tie-downs.

Once your aircraft is secured, proceed in an easterly direction to the roll gate at the south end of the Museum property; there is also a walk-through gate in that fence.

Proceed to the Gift Shop (attached to the east end of the Maloney Hangar) to pay admission and receive entrance stickers.
