Where Warbirds Fly and Aviation History Lives!

The Planes of Fame Air Museum collection now numbers over 160 aircraft with more than 35 in flyable condition.  The majority of these are maintained in pristine condition and are on display throughout the Museum.

Through the generosity of the many people who donate funds to the museum and the dozens of volunteers who contribute their time to restore and maintain the aircraft, many of these rare warbirds have been restored to flight.

Our collection spans most of the Twentieth Century.  From the replica 1903 Kitty Hawk Flyer built by the Wright Brothers through aircraft of the Great War of 1914-1918, including an actual flying veteran of that war.  We have an ever-expanding assortment of planes from the Golden Age of the 1920s and 1930s, including several that represent the last of their kind.  At the heart of the collection are the warbirds of World War II.  These include aircraft from all sides of the battlefield.  We enter the jet age with examples from the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and several important test aircraft of the period.

Throughout the year, many of our flying aircraft depart the Museum to participate in airshows, military base open houses, various public events, or are engaged in the making of film and television productions. This flying activity can be experienced by those who visit and establishes us as a “living museum”. Prior to your visit, we encourage you to check our Aircraft Flight Schedule to check on the travel calendar of specific aircraft.
